Art in Action training and materials are provided by NHSC.

Please contact your child’s teacher to volunteer for the Art Program.

Ceramics

The Clay Program allows students an avenue for creativity using clay as a medium. The students are taught everything from basic ceramic skills to forming and glazing the clay. Clay forming has been proven to help improve students' hand-eye coordination.

This is a parent volunteer run program and NHSC provides basic training and all supplies for 2 to 3 projects in the year.

Please contact your child’s teacher to volunteer for the Clay Program.

Garden Club & Beautification

Garden Club is a chance for students to dig in the dirt and learn about gardening. Meets on Tuesdays at lunch in the Spring and Fall.

This parent-run club is turning Noddin’s soil areas into viable working planting space. Students enjoy watching the plants grow and learn so much in this process. All gardening supplies are provided by the NHSC.

Helper requests: Raised bed soil, weeding warriors, and manual labor throughout the year.

To volunteer with the Garden Club, please complete the Volunteer Form on our website.

Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone is a YMCA community initiative, with the mission to create an environment in schools for students to feel valued and respected. Their ABC program - Asset Building Champion, focusses on developmental assets like building relationships, skills, experiences and values that help young people thrive.

Once a month, parents volunteer to read stories that focus on one of the developmental assets, helping students learn more about themselves and their peers. Training and materials are provided by NHSC.

Please contact your child’s teacher to volunteer for Project Cornerstone.

Walk n’ Roll

Walk n’ Roll is looking for 1-2 parents to lead the program for the 2025-26 School Year.

Walk n’ Roll is a monthly program that encourages families to walk, bike, or roll to school instead of driving. Once or twice a month, on designated Wednesdays, students who participate will be eligible for a raffle ticket for a chance to win fun prizes.

Can’t walk all the way to school? Feel free to park a few blocks away and walk the rest of the way!

If you are interested in leading the program, please complete the Volunteer Form on our website.

Running Club

Running Club is a fun and exciting way to motivate the students in grades 1-5 to come out and exercise during their lunch break.

We offer incentives and provide students with a weekly status report of how many miles they have completed. Volunteers help scan student laps and hand out prizes.

To volunteer for the Running Club program, please complete the Volunteer Form on our website.

We need volunteers to help us make a difference for our children.
